Reeds Spring Teacher

Like with most things you see, read or hear there is more to the Mike Collins story. Given the Fish Wrapper is the source take it for what it is worth but according to an "anonomous" teacher in Reeds Spring there may be a back story to his suspension.

I know this is off the subject but I feel it must be investigated. I believe the Cox North Hopital is going to be price gouging and hurting the people on the north side of town. When the Cox North hospital closed it's Emergency Room, Intencive Care Unit and the other Departments it really cut deep into the North community. Cox changed there mind about closing due to bad PR and left the ER open as a Urgent Care. This meant that any trauma had to go south and all ambulances had to go south and this additional cost was payed for by the patient. Now Cox has decided that the Urgent Care is now no longer making enough money and has decided to reopen the already functioning urgent care into a stand alone ER. What this means by the title change is, they will be able to bill the patient for the same service that an urgent care can provide but since it will be called an ER they can double or even triple the bill at the same time they will still transport you south at your cost. This is wrong and needs investigated.

Reeds Springs Attorney replied to correspondence early today. They have made a stance and withhold that there is a process by which the teacher will be judged. A public hearing is scheduled for March and the teacher will have the opportunity to plead his case. One really good thing about the incident is that attendance at the school board meeting rose tenfold. I covered the Reeds Spring School Board last month and few people showed. I don't think lack of public interest will continue after this outpouring of support.
