Getting that audit would be a dandy first step... let's get busy, Mr. Struckhoff, and verify those signatures. A lot of people worked hard to get them, and a lot of Springfield voters knew a good idea when it was presented to them. It's way past time to bring accountability to Mayor Tom and his crew on Boonville Avenue.
it would seem to me that maybe we need to start a public review forum of the city councils actions. Or maybe one of our local radio talk show host can do a one hour(if necessary)show on the workings from the previsious meeting. All radio stations have local media people which I believe that city council meetings are news worthy. I have a rare instance where I can work into my schedule a visit to a meeting, but hey I could listen to the report or the meeting if they were recorded some where.

Someone with decency needs to run for, and win a seat on the council and shake things up. I would do it, but I will be leaving Springfield in a year to further my education.
There will be decent people running for seats on the CC, however since they won't be of the R and D persuasion they will be ignored.
No matter how much he preaches the thought of a Libertarian serving on an elected position just taints some people.
Who better to serve then someone that has principles, I don't know of many duopoly candidates that have any moral fibre to do something other than what the party tells them to do.
Can you let us know who discovered the missing money at the courts (outside audit, inside audit, city employee, etc.) and also how it became known to the public (leak, announcement, etc.). This can be very enlightening. Thank you
The Greene County Libertarian Party has scheduled a public forum for interested citizens to provide their concerns to be submitted to the State Auditor's office. On Saturday, August 26th, our first forum will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Frisco room at the Library Station. Audit suggestions can also be phoned in to the G.C.L.P. at (417) 300-9148 or by e-mail at auditinfo@intergate.com.
Ozarks Voice "The Cover Up"
The story of a six year effort started when I turned in 1800 signatures on a petition asking for the development of a technology park be placed on the Springfield ballot. The City said no then just like they said no in August of this year when 1300 signatures were turned in. They say it is appropriating money and the citizens can not do that with a ballot petition even though they allowed Sheriff Merritt to do it on this years November ballot because they will pay to enforce it. We do have a new petition going and it can be found at our website.
This project could bring more and better business and job opportunities for all of southwest Missouri. That is why we want people from across the area to consider joining the effort. To help or learn more people can go to: www.technologypark2006.org. We also think we need to include College of the Ozarks, Drury, Evangel, MSU, OTC and other colleges in the area.
Most say that MSU, the City and Roy Blunt stole the idea from our volunteer grass roots effort. Mainly the Jordan Valley Innovation is about research for military issues. That project is fine, but we need more general opportunities for the people of southwest Missouri since the world economy is moving ahead so fast. We would like to see research in agricultural, environmental and other general areas of new technology. We also talked about the incubator strategy which according to news story JVI was not included, but now they claim will be.
It is upsetting that the city continues to turn down a citizens led effort even though we have helped push the Technology agenda forward. They must be having many sleepless nights trying to figure out how to shut us down! We need more grassroots efforts so that the citizens can use the democratic process since we own the government. Free enterprise should allow business and the citizens to steer where government money goes in the economy. Letting the citizens have a say in their own destiny is something that must send chills down their spines.

Can the memo about prizes being given away to the first one to reach a red light be posted again? And this time post it in a more prominent place, please. With all of the drivers I see everyday racing to the next red light there must be a some kind of fantastic prize in store. And judging from the way some not in 1st place race for the red light, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and even 5th place must not be too shabby prizes either.
Why are people complaining about the winter weather here? Have you looked at a map lately. It's pretty hard to confuse M-I-S-S-O-U-R-I with south F-L-O-R-I-D-A. Recently on KY3, Lisa Rose teased the upcoming weather segment with something like "that four letter word - snow". Snow is wonderful. It's beautiful. It's fun to play in. It's a reminder of God's creation all around us. If it's so bad here and less than a priveledge to live in the Ozarks then pack up your stuff and move to south Florida or southern Arizona or maybe San Diego.
